10 Best Party Schools in USA
1. West Virginia University – Morgantown, West Virginia
The school pride for WVU is just a strong as the need to drink. Football games, for example, are a congregation of every Mountaineer, present, past, or future, coming together to drink ceremoniously in honor of their Mountaineer football. Much of my time at WVU has been a drunken blur. The accessibility to large quantities of alcohol is a large factor in this process. The Greek Life at WVU only adds to all of this. Only at WVU are there designated nights for different fraternities to throw ragers. (i.e. Beta Tuesdays, Phi Psi Fridays).
“Now on to St. Pattys Day, yet another day of chaos. We have all seen the “I'm Shmacked,” video, yet it is hard to believe this madness could be an accurate portrayal of reality. In the particular case of WVU, this is quite the contrary. Madness is an understatement, with this holiday. Strength in numbers could not be anymore true in the case of West Virginia University. Luckily for us, that strength is put towards drinking massive quantities of alcohol. If this is not a sufficient description of how hard my school rages, please don't hesitate to email me and I will further express my feelings on the subject.”
2. University of Florida – Gainesville, Florida
My first semester, I remember thinking how Greek-oriented social life seemed. Ended up joining one my second semester. The main places people go out are on University Ave. The area immediately north of campus is midtown which consists of bars and restaurants. The most popular places to go out here are Swamp, Cantina, O!O, Balls, Salty. Further east on University Ave. is the downtown area where all the clubs are: Bank, Vault, Jolie, etc.
3. University of Texas – Austin, Texas
The University of Texas at Austin is notorious for it's downtown scene, 6th Street is a conglomerate of bars that goes on for more than four blocks with back to back bars. It is the ultimate place for people to go, bar hop, and get hammered (of course) everything from hip-hop bars to hipster bars to dubstep and country is playing every day of the week.
“However UT students are not satisfied with this phenomenon of nightclubs; house parties and fraternity parties are huge. West Campus is the area where most undergrads reside. There are back-to-back entirely student populated buildings and fraternity and sorority houses are in every block. They all have their particular parties year round and like to throw day parties every once in a while; with so many fraternities on campus, there is never a weekend with no events.
4. University of Wisconsin – Madison, Wisconsin
People go harder and more often here than anywhere in the country. It's literally a party of some sort everyday. Whether you're Greek or not, you're raging and having the time of your life every day. We have a beautiful lake that allows for some of the best day drinking, in the warm months, ever. Plus, our sports teams all have a dedicated, and over-served, following that goes hard in the paint every week.
5. University of Georgia – Athens, Georgia
The scene here in Athens is something that has to be experienced to be believed. If you’re over on Milledge Ave (Frat Row) on any given weekend night, you’ll hear bands and big time rap names blasting over the screams of some of the finest Southern Belles. But the main attraction to UGA is the downtown scene; it is absolutely unreal. Thursdays find wild outfits from socials running around, and every other night it seems like the entire student body is out raging in their Sunday best. Athens is where The South’s finest go to raise a little hell.
6. Penn State University – University Park, Pennsylvania
“The party scene at Penn State is second to none. Not everyone can handle a football weekend at Penn State. After partying all night Friday, it's a 7am wake-up call on Saturday (no matter what time kick-off is), all-day tailgate at the frat, house, or field of your choice. All of this is followed by the actual game, which requires you to go nuts without ever sitting down (only at half-time), followed by another night out.
“And the weather doesn't even affect us. Could be snowing, sleeting, raining, all the above—doesn't matter. The hardest cold-weather school ever, of all-time. A daylong on a warm, sunny day in April? Forget it. It's like letting us out of our cages.
“Tuesday night's at G-Man and The Den, and Thursday night's at Indigo, make us forget what the “weekend” means.”
7. University of California-Santa Barbara – Santa Barbara, California
Thousands of college students packed into 0.5 square miles of ocean front paradise in Santa Barbara California. Not to mention Del Playa Drive throws down most every night with outrageous house parties…. No charges to get in, no lists, free alcohol, tons of hot girls. Just follow the music and crowds of hundreds of hot girls.
8. Ohio University – Athens, Ohio
Ohio University has been ranked in the Princeton Review's Top Party School top 5 two years in a row. We go hard every weekend, not just on one of the numerous fest weekends. No matter the day of the week, if you're looking for a party, you can find several houses that would be more than willing to invite you in and get you trashed. Thousands of people flock from all around to come to our notorious fest weekends of which there are many. The girls are hot and have loose morals. There is simply no better school for partying than OU. OU OH YEAH!!!
9. Florida State University – Tallahassee, Florida
Hot girls everywhere. Seriously… EVERYWHERE. Booze is super cheap and plentiful. There are drink specials and something to do every night of the week. For $10 or $20, there's an all you can drink top shelf on Friday nights at Bullwinkle's, which used to always make Playboy's top college bars. There's a caliber of girls that likely didn't get into UF, so they're a bit more liberal and tend to go out a whole lot more.
“Everyone's in shape, so it leads to a lot more hooking up than you'd expect. In Florida, there's a ton of pressure to be in shape year round, because at any given time you can go to the beach. Like, being fat is just not an option. So there's a shit ton of pool parties in the spring that get out of control. The pool parties are the spring equivalent of a game days. So you tend to want to get hammered and show off your body, as a culture."
10. Arizona State University – Tempe, Arizona
You need a birthday and a pulse to get into ASU. If you’re going to ASU, you’re not going for the prestige academia but rather to attend more pool parties than classes. The Hayden Library scene is as prestig as you’ll get and it’s essentially an Adderall induced Facebook stalk sesh and a good place to get the Bros together to plan the next party….fucking raggggeee.
Going to ASU is essentially being in the chillest frat: Bros glide to class on longboards (unless they see a pool party at Vista en route) and girls are constantly looking for an excuse to wear less, because they’re hot and you should know it…. I’m talking temperature, it’s a fucking desert. The hardest decision you’ll make is whether you should go to the ABC Party first or the Sports Pros and Tennis Hos party. Tailgating has been rolled, but it’s ASU so we deal with life’s hardships. When life gives us lemons, we add fucking vodka, girls in bikinis, some green and maybe a bag of blow.
I’ve mentioned house parties. There is also Mill Ave when you’re of age. Cue Club is the only place I remember because after a (or 5) $3 Long Island Iced Tea(s) pictures were the only way I was able to piece together my night.. If you’re into wearing Affliction you should A.) re-think your life and if you still think it has meaning and could see yourself on the cast of Jersey Shore, you’ll enjoy bottle service in North Scottsdale.
